We take pride in our homes and in our neighborhood
Our Story
The Glencrest Civic League Neighborhood Association was officially organized in August of 1950, after starting out in 1944 as the Oak Crest Civic League. We have several members, many of whom volunteer their time and efforts to improve and strengthen the neighborhood.
A partial list of efforts and improvements to our neighborhood made by The Glencrest Civic League:
- Publication of our quarterly community newsletter
- Frequent communication between FW City Council, FWPD, FW Code Compliance, FWISD Trustees
- Improved street lights, street surfacing and street drainage through the neighborhood
- Raised over $75,000 from 1998 - 2002 to remodel The Bradley Center commits center at 2601 Timberline Dr
- Recipient of the National Association of Realtors Good Neighborhood Award in 1996 and 1997

Zoning Change Request for Vacant Land at 4400 Ellis Ranch Trail
A zoning change application was submitted to the Zoning Commission by Pinnacle Properties of Texas/AANI Design Build, LLC for the property located at 4400 Ellis Ranch Trail. The proposal requests to all of the lots on the 5.67 acre tract from A-10 lots to A-5 lots, essentially reducing the lot sizes by half, to accommodate a single-family residential development consisting of 27+ homes.
As an organization, we opposed this proposal due to concerns over the reduced lot sizes and increased housing density within our neighborhood. Additional concerns were raised regarding traffic congestion, on-street parking, drainage, added strain on city services such as code enforcement and policing, as well as the overall impact on the neighborhood’s aesthetics. To support our opposition, we gathered signatures from 38 residents living within 300 feet of the property who are also against the rezoning. On April 9th, we attended the Zoning Commission’s Monthly Public Hearing and formally voiced our concerns. Despite our strong opposition, the Commission voted in favor of the developer. The proposal will now move to the City Council for final approval, scheduled for May 13th at 6:00 PM at the new City Hall (100 Fort Worth Trail, Fort Worth, TX, Council Chambers). We encourage every resident to attend and make your voice heard!
